Job Description

Course Description
 The Industrial Electrician Certificate Program is designed to provide the theoretical background and practical experience needed for those wishing to advance their careers as Industrial Electricians. It also provides the entry-level skills for those seeking employment in this field with advancement potential. This program is offered on a part-time basis on weekend. It will typically take six months to complete the program.
 Industrial electricians install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment and power distribution systems in a commercial or industrial facility. They must be familiar with the National Electrical Code, blueprint reading, the use of electrical and mechanical tools and measurement techniques, electrical equipment, supplies and components, and programmable logic controllers.
Course Competencies
 Practice safety procedures in an industrial environment
 Properly use tools and measuring equipment employed by electricians
 Understand electrical terminology and read electrical symbols and schematics
 Install commercial and industrial wiring systems, protective devices, and electrical equipment in accordance with the CEC code
 Apply electrical theory to the installation and troubleshooting of electrical, electronic, and digital systems
